ARC - A Case Study

Oftentimes in the physical therapy field, the services and practices offered to the clients are primarily focused on the body. I know that sounds fairly obvious, as it’s in the name, but the recovery process can be frustrating and emotionally taxing for patients struggling to make progress each day. So why not create a park that incorporates mental and holistic therapy into the physical regimen.

The Goal

  • Promoting Physical, Mental, and Spiritual Health
  • Informing People About the Park’s Services
  • Expanding the Brand’s Reach in the Digital World

The Design Process

Given that the content derived from a previous project I worked on, I already had most of my content ready. It was just a matter of expanding a bit on the following:

  • Brand Story
  • Services
  • Content Marketing

But first, I needed to figure out the kind of people I’d be catering to. The idea is to cater to wide range of people who all have the same goal: to recover from their sports injuries or physical ailments.

Persona Time!

Generally, any athlete facing issues with they physical recovery from their sports injuries are my audience, but here’s a closer look at the persona I’ve created for this project

Avery Miller

The Anxious Fencer

Age: 19 | Profession: Collegiate Fencer, Student

Avery Miller is a rising star in the fencing
field. She is a hardworking, dedicated
athlete, and she balances it with her
student life as a sophomore in college.
However, she does have a history with
anxiety and has perfectionistic tendencies.
In short, she worries a lot about everything.

The Struggle

After hearing the news of qualifying for the
FIE Competiton, Avery has developed a
sense of imposter syndrome, causing her
performance to stagger as the competition
grows near. It’s time for a mental check.

Site Map

What changed throughout my site map was changing the location of the “location segment” to the contact segment, rather than the homepage. I also added a staff directory to the services page, so users will see that there are qualified members to take care of them. Finally, I added a dropdown menu (using custom CSS!) on the homepage, to briefly highlight the services ARC has.

Wireframes

Before
After

After drafting the site map, I went over to Figma to create the prototype by scratch. I was pretty surprised by how long the prototypes would end up, but then again, it is made for scrolling.

Final Result

Here is the final result of the ARC website. This site includes a services tab, a blog sharing tips and tricks to taking care of your health, and contact page.

Overall, this website was designed to expand the reach of Aether Restoration Center, in hopes of helping more athletes recover in the mind, body, and soul.

Thank you!
